It does make one tired... by Peggy Winters-Stevens

I am a long term pain patient going on 24 years. Days like today I hurt from my neck down to my toes but had to take myself to one of my doctors for a test and a visit so no pain relief until I got back home. I try to keep my meds to a minimum. I am on the opposite end of the pool when it comes to pain clinics. I have experienced 2. One had me so messed up I left and found a Dr. Who would help me detox (you can't just quit cold turkey on most meds) on an outpatient basis weekly until I was off of everything and could start at the basics an find a doctor with mutual respect. The second pain doctor gave me a treatment which my longtime neurologist had been doing for migraines. He wasn't qualified in the procedures and I OD'd right in the office. (He no longer works there) So, I do not trust pain management Drs. I currently have an awesome Primary Care and several specialists. I really like all of them. They are in the same clinic in Middle TN, know each other and communicate on the same computer system. I have (in the same practice treating me for separate specialties) 2 Neurologists one for my migraine Botox injections and the other for my neurological issues, a Rheumatologist (who keeps me in my non-opioid, pain and muscle relaxers.)  I do not take these unless I am having a dreadful day. Otherwise, I try to use heat and topical ointments and try to nap to give myself a break, and my Rheumatologist also can give me injections for my joints and my fibromyalgia trigger points, and I have a Gastroenterologist I see these doctors every 5 to 6 months. I also see a breast center specialist once a year, an eye physician every couple of years. I also have as needed a urologist, Allergy Dr., and a Dr. For my Major depressive disorder and Anxiety every 6 months or so depending. So, also let’s see, I have migraines, hypothyroidism, scoliosis, osteoarthritis/osteoporosis, Chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, interstitial cystitis, migraines, supposed to wear a C-Pap but I don't, and a couple of other things... It does make one tired...
