It does make one tired... by Peggy Winters-Stevens

I am a long term pain patient going on 24 years. Days like today I hurt from my neck down to my toes but had to take myself to one of my doctors for a test and a visit so no pain relief until I got back home. I try to keep my meds to a minimum. I am on the opposite end of the pool when it comes to pain clinics. I have experienced 2. One had me so messed up I left and found a Dr. Who would help me detox (you can't just quit cold turkey on most meds) on an outpatient basis weekly until I was off of everything and could start at the basics an find a doctor with mutual respect. The second pain doctor gave me a treatment which my longtime neurologist had been doing for migraines. He wasn't qualified in the procedures and I OD'd right in the office. (He no longer works there) So, I do not trust pain management Drs. I currently have an awesome Primary Care and several specialists. I really like all of them. They are in the same clinic in Middle TN, know each other and communicate

Death in Missouri Preventable by Sarah Simons

This death was most likely preventable  :'(  this makes me so angry inside. On my very first pain mgmt. visit I first had to meet with a pain psychologist who had carefully and meticulously reviewed my medical file. One of hi s opening questions to me was, "Has any health care professional ever stated or made you feel like all this pain was in your head?" I said, "Well, yes I have been made to feel that way before." And he said, "Well, that stops here. I've read your file over the last few days and what caught my attention was an ER report from April. You do know you were treated poorly for the first 10 minutes or so correct?" And I said, "To be honest, I was in so much pain I can hardly recall, I was not in a good frame of mind." He said, "I see here, your blood pressure upon arrival was 220/165, after 5 more minutes it was even higher, is that correct?" I said, "Yes. I remember being taken to a room on a wheelie bed, the

Arizona Listen Up

We need people CALLING news outlets throughout Arizona to report Honorable John J. Tuchi, Federal Judge for the District of Arizona. Explicitly, the way he’s attempting to dismiss “ sua sponte " the Federal Court case 2:19-cv-00043-PHX-JJT - Colbert-Hock v. United States of America et al.  This action would deny the citizens of Arizona the opportunity to describe the horrible effects the Arizona Opioid Prescribing Guidelines 2014, the second edition 2018, and with the new provisions of the Arizona Opioid Epidemic Act taking effect January 2019 have had in their lives. This type of dismissal is more distressing as it appears the Honorable Judge Tuchi is attempting to sweep the damage done by overzealous legislation under the rug as he only provided Cindy Hook, a pro se litigant, ten (10) calendar days to respond with an amended complaint or all her hard work merely disappears. At present we are searching for an Arizona law similar to the provisions of 28 U.S.C. 2679(d), which

Time For a New Approach

As a Christian and a United States Marine, I believe in our Constitution enough to trust the Judicial Branch to reign in Congressional policies which have demonstrated zero humanity or compassion toward the American people. These policies written by elected officials deny Americans today and future generations the ability to enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. In the United States today, we have over 100 million Americans, the elderly, cancer patients, disabled, veterans, minorities, et cetera, who suffer from Chronic Pain Disease. These men and women are our families, our loved ones, our neighbors. The time to defend them is upon fearless warriors willing to take a leap of faith. It would be so awesome to participate in every Chronic Pain Rally, planned or unplanned, but how is that possible when so many of us are now unable to leave to our homes & beds? I would love to complete every petition, answer every open comment period by governmental agencies, but we must

A Starburst Warrior Speaks Out

I asked Mr. Rose to re-post this text because I think my 29 years of fighting for treatment of my seven diagnosed intractable pain conditions, I might convey enough emotion to make you understand your future suffering is guaranteed if we cannot change this immoral attack on us!          When some billionaire thought he could make a mountain of money if he could force all people that take opioids into New National- Chain  Drug Detox and Recovery Centers with the guarantee of government funding from the 8.5 billion earmarked from the  “Opioid Crisis Response Act of 2018”,  that passed last year.  That is an ocean of money against us.       I had my medication cut below a functional level four years ago here in VA and WV.  It appears to us most of the rest of the country has medication lowered below tolerable levels or suspended, only within the last two years.        You all that have 2.7 doses of pain medication to cover 6 to 8 chronic pain episodes per day, know in your hea

#Starburst🚀 - 10 States = 10 Heroes

Yes, these individuals are HEROES. They believe in our Constitution enough to trust the Judicial Branch to reign in Congressional policies which have demonstrated zero humanity or compassion toward the American people. We have over 100 million Americans, the elderly, cancer patients, disabled, veterans, minorities, et cetera, who suffer from Chronic Pain Disease. This number represents ONE in THREE Americans who have done no wrong but are being treated the same as victims of the pre-war Germany which eventually led to the Holocaust. (Please, watch “Caring Corrupted” for the history of how nurses, doctors, & the German people were indoctrinated before 1939.) It is by other heroes filing the #Starburst🚀 complaint in other states which will lead to change. It is by each of you joining the states already listed with the Motions to Join which will end the tyranny ruling this great nation today. It is a chance to protect our children and grandchildren from these abuses as it only takes

As many know by now, I answer all emails sent through the contact page as well as return phone calls. I'm slow sometimes in my responses as I'm a 100% disabled Marine and primary caregiver for my wife of 32 years who is also 100% disabled. I'm going to try to share some of the stories you have opened your hearts to me in hopes of opening eyes and maybe getting prayers for each of you suffering so much more than I... 😢 . Much luv, soft hugs, & many prayers. Robert D. Rose Jr. BSW, MEd. USMC Semper Fidelis Our Stories
